Why did I want this fanlisting?

For my reason for doing the fanlisting. I was a huge fan of Linda from the moment I saw her on Dallas. I couldn't help but tuning in everyday to see what would happen and then when I saw her do other things, I was in awe. I loved it. She is a truely talent person.

About Linda Gray

Linda Gray was born in Santa Monica, California, in 1942. As a child, she attended a public-speaking school to overcome her shyness, eventually growing into a beautiful, self-assured teen. A photographer snapped candid photos of her while she was attending a fashion show, and this led to regular modeling and commercial gigs. While interviewing for a job, the 19-year-old Gray fell hard for art director Ed Thrasher. The couple were married two years later in 1962. Within a few years, they welcomed son Jeff and daughter Kehly and settled into a nice life on a farm in Southern California.

Gray continued modeling and began to pursue acting, despite the disapproval of her husband and parents. In 1977, after guest spots on the TV dramas "Marcus Welby, M.D." and "McCloud," she landed the controversial role of a transsexual in Norman Lear's series "All That Glitters." The show lasted only one season, but Gray's performance earned her recognition. In 1978, at age 36, the actress was cast as Sue Ellen Ewing, the troubled and boozing spouse of J.R. Ewing, on the nighttime soap "Dallas."

Gray and her family weren't prepared for the publicity that engulfed the hit show, and in 1983, Gray's marriage crumbled under the pressures of the spotlight. The suddenly single actress relished her newfound independence, moving into a Malibu home near co-star Larry Hagman (aka J.R. Ewing) and even taking a crack at directing "Dallas" episodes. But in 1989, Gray decided it was time to leave the "Dallas" ranch behind her. Two years later, she stepped into the limelight again, as a ruthless businesswoman on "Melrose Place." Her character was so popular that she parlayed the part into the spin-off show "Models Inc." in 1994. After that show went off the air, Gray became an advocate for women's rights around the globe as a Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations Population Fund. In the fall of 2002, she returned to acting, taking over the risqué role of Mrs. Robinson in the Broadway production of "The Graduate." Not surprisingly, she received rave reviews for her portrayal of yet another spicy character.
